Message from the Chairman

My name is Myoung Woo Lee, WG94, and I am delighted to greet you as the Penn Club of Korea Chairman for the 2023-24 term. It is a personal privilege to stand at the helm of our 2,500-strong organization. At the same time, I do feel a heavy weight on my shoulders. I will do my utmost to continue building on the traditions and foundation laid by the Chairpersons who came before me and work alongside our esteemed alumni to make the Penn Club of Korea an even greater community.

To everything, there is a season. Each of us entered Penn with our unique stories and hopes for the future that lay ahead. There, in our season, we made friends and built our lives. Although we may have been studying for different degrees, Penn's heritage which became embodied in us during our many walks up and down Locust Walk is a common asset shared by us all. In this current season, we live in an era of networking and convergence. If our many alumni who have established themselves in their respective fields could cherish this shared asset and come together to communicate more with one another, we will surely benefit as a community and be able to give back more to society.

To achieve this, we must accomplish the following.
First, we must work on reconnecting with our forgotten alma mater. How can we improve our relationship with the school? Have we taken an interest to find out how the school has changed since our days on campus? How are our alumni and school performing on the global stage?
Next, we must invite our 2,500 members to engage in our conversation. As the saying goes, a feather in hand is better than a bird in the air. I look forward to meeting with many of our alumni to hear your thoughts on how to best achieve these goals.
